5 Questions: Levi Neubauer, Libby HS Student Body President

| March 7, 2010 11:00 PM

1. Why did you want to represent your classmates as student body president?

“I felt like I could be a pretty effective leader and make positive changes throughout the school. Also, I was interested in the position to help prepare me for future leadership later in life.”

2. If you were the superintendent or a voting member of the school board, what would be a change you would like to see at Libby High School?

“If I was in a position to make a real big change, it would be to provide more recognition for non-athletic students for academics, volunteer groups and other student activities.”

3. How long have you attended school in Libby and what’s your funniest memory from your early years?

“K through 12 … At Plummer, my cousin got her head caught between the slide and jungle gym. She hung by the top of her head for a few seconds until the teachers could unhook her. I thought she was dying. It was third grade … I remember that vividly.”

4. What do you feel is positive about your education at Libby High School?

“I feel the school provides many opportunities for students to get involved in activities other than athletics. It opens doors for students who normally wouldn’t get involved. It allows students to express themselves in more than one way.”

5. What plans do you have after graduation and do you know what you would like to do for a profession?

“After graduation, I hope to attend the University of Montana and get a degree in biology and education so I can teach. And I want to go on to graduate school at the University of Portland and get a graduate degree in school administration.”

(Levi Neubauer, 18, son of Kevin Neubauer and Teresa Johnston, is a senior at Libby High School).
