Letter: Road crews deserve praise for efforts

| January 20, 2010 11:00 PM

Dear Editor:

Thank you to the Lincoln County and Montana state road crews. Often we take

for granted is how well the state and county road crews maintain our roads through the harsh winters.

We get some of the most variable weather in our area which presents continual changing conditions. Our road crews work day and night giving their best efforts to stay ahead of and anticipate the variable winter driving conditions. The complexity of that challenge changes with each road mile and is only understood fully by those who work with the problem 24/7.

When we cruise down the highways in our heated vehicles, we are isolated not only from the bitter bite of the winter cold but the harsh reality of how helpless the journey would be if the road crews had not been there before us.

We need to give our thanks to those who clear the way ahead of us by day and night. You are appreciated.
