Girls basketball: Lady Trojans lose to Mission, Bigfork
The Troy High School girls basketball team got seven points from Jackie Pepiot in a 43-16 loss to Mission in a District 7-B meeting on Friday.
The Bulldogs were hitting 3-pointers and playing stingy on defense to shut down the Lady Trojans. By halftime, Mission had built a 22-9 lead and then pulled away for good with a 13-1 run in the third.
Ashley Courville hit for 14 points to lead the Bulldogs (1-2, 3-5).
The Lady Trojans then ran into conference leader Bigfork on Saturday and suffered a 57-12 loss.
The Vals held a double-digit lead by the end of the first. Over the final three quarters, Bigfork held Troy to just five points.
Allie Maestas led THS with five points. Quinci Payne had 15 points to top Bigfork scorers.
The Lady Trojans (0-4, 0-8) play host to Libby on Thursday and head to Eureka on Saturday.
