Boys basketball: Troy downs Mission, falls to Bigfork
The Troy High School boys basketball team came up big in the fourth quarter to down Mission, 37-27, in a District 7-B matchup on Friday.
The Trojans put together a solid defensive performance by limiting the Bulldogs to single digits in each of the four quarters.
Individually, Jake Alexander finished with a team-high 13 points while Brian Hammrich and Trent Cratty each added seven.
Joren Geis netted 16 to lead Mission (1-2, 3-4).
The Trojans followed up with a 59-34 loss to conference newcomer Bigfork. The Eagles extended a 12-8 lead after the first quarter into an 11-point advantage by halftime. Troy stayed to within striking distance until the fourth quarter when the Vikings finished strong.
Ryan Rayson scored 13 and Cratty added 10 for the Trojans. Hammrich also contributed seven points.
The Trojans (2-2, 4-4).
Keenan Evans led the Vikings (2-1, 7-1) with 16 points.
Troy heads to Libby on Friday and up to Eureka on Saturday.
