Harriet J. Welch

Harriet J. Welch, 80, died Jan. 4, 2010 at the Libby Care Center from natural causes.

She was born April 25, 1929 in Columbus, N.D., to Elton and Dorothy (Moslet) Vinson. She attended school in the Kalispell area and in 1945, she married Nevin Welch. Together they made their home in Troy and Libby.

Mrs. Welch enjoyed music, puzzles, painting and camping. She especially loved her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nevin, in 2001; and two sons, Vernice (Butch) in 1994 and Richard in 1971.

Survivors include her son, Robert J. Welch and wife Joyce of Troy; two brothers, Richard Vinson and wife Kay of Libby; Dale Vinson and wife Sheryl of Libby; sister, Marilyn Vinson of Libby; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren

Services will be Friday, Jan. 8 at 2 p.m., at the Troy Church of God, 212 Kalispell Ave., in Troy. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 7 from 1-8 p.m. at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home, 422 W. Second St., in Libby.
