The Irish Fair Committee in Libby announced its schedule and plans for this year’s event on March 13.

The committee’s Eileen Carney said the fair – now in its 15th year – will feature, Dublin Gulch, as its headline act.

“At the end of the 19th century, one-fourth of the population of Butte was Irish people trying to escape famine at home. Most lived in an area called Dublin Gulch, which is now below the waters of the Berkely Pit,” Carney said about the origination of the band’s name.

The Kelly Irish Dancers out of Chattaroy, Wash., will perform Irish step dancing.

The day begins at 10 a.m., at the Libby Memorial Center. Forty crafters will display their wares for browsing and during the day, local musicians will provide free live entertainment on the stage. Of course, the Irish Fair also includes traditional pasties and other Irish food.

Tickets to Dublin Gulch’s 7 p.m., concert are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Tickets for children 12 and under are $6.
