Gordon I. Price

Gordon I. Price, 70, of Troy, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital in Libby from natural causes.

He was born Nov. 8, 1939 in Jordan to Gordon W. and Dora Stanton Price. He grew up and attended school in Jordan and graduated at age 15 with the class of 1954. He worked on farms around Jordan until age 17 when the family moved to Troy.

He then met and married Marlene McCann. They were married for 23 years and had four children. Mr. Price served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He had worked as a core driller and a logger and was well-known for his knife-making. He enjoyed playing music.

A son, Clint, preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his children, Gordon W. Price and wife Kristina of Libby; Kerri Augare and husband David of Valier; Peggy McDonald and husband Steve of Kent, Wash.; Rhonda Tuin and husband John of Carson City, Nev.; five sisters, Alma Basham and husband Jay of Troy; Melba Wiggins and husband Rob of Idaho; Marlene Peterson and husband Tom; and Twila Berringer and husband Bob – both of Winnemucca, Nev.; and Jeanette Craig of Idaho; two brothers, Clayton Price and wife Bonnie of Troy; and Shorty Price and wife Janine of Troy; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Also mourning Mr. Price’s death is a special friend, Donna Munyun of Troy.

Private family services are being held.
