Girls Basketball: Lady Loggers win big over Whitefish

The Libby High School girls basketball team ended the regular season on Saturday with a 51-26 win at Whitefish.

Jackie Mee scored 21 points and LaRona Luscher added 14 for the Lady Loggers.

Libby put the game away early with an offensive barrage in the first quarter that added up to a 27-2 lead. Mee’s 21 points came on seven field goals, including a 3-pointer, and 6-of-6 free throws. Luscher had four 3-pointers.

Jessica Slaybaugh scored 16 points for Whitefish (1-7, 1-17).

Libby (6-2, 13-5) now heads to the Northwestern A tournament in Kalispell at Glacier High.

The Lady Loggers open on Friday against Polson. If they win, they would play on Saturday in the title game.
