Letter: Casting district judge vote for Wheelis

Dear Editor:

I would like to endorse Jim Wheelis for district judge in Lincoln County.

I worked for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department from May 1989 to July 2002 and retired as a detective. During that time, I had the opportunity to work with Jim Wheelis as he was both a public defender and then a deputy county attorney for Lincoln County. Jim was a hard worker and extremely thorough in either defending or prosecuting cases.

I found him to be open-minded and a good listener. Jim brought vast experience in criminal cases having worked in different locations in the state of Montana and he shared that with us.

His prior term as a district judge in Missoula also makes him extremely qualified for this position. The citizens of Lincoln County would be well served by Jim Wheelis, and I would urge you to support and vote for him in the coming election.
