Letter: Showing support in Troy for Thrasher
Dear Editor:
I am writing because I am disturbed with the way the citizens of our town of Troy are treating an officer that has served our people well, for many years, with accountability, courage and kindness.
This officer did make one mistake, lied about it, admitted his error, apologized and made atonement as much as he was able. His family and his wife forgave. They even renewed their wedding vows in a church service.
Are there so many people in Troy that have never made mistakes or told lies that we can deny this good man a second chance? I am going to decorate everything I can reach with blue ribbon to show my support for a good officer and hope that there are many of his friends and citizens of Troy that will join in this effort.
It worked for our Bob McLeod. I pray it will work for John Thrasher.
