Regional field director for Rehberg retires
U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg (R-Mont.)
announced the retirement of Larry Anderson, who holds the position
of northwest Montana field director.
Anderson’s retirement becomes effective
in January.
“One of the most rewarding aspects of
public service is knowing that you helped real people solve real
problems,” Rehberg said through a press release. “Larry has been a
public servant for most of his life. Montanans and public officials
have always made it a point to recognize and thank me for Larry’s
contributions to their counties, communities, and organizations. I
want to join them and thank Larry for his service. I know we all
wish him the best on his retirement.”
Anderson, a 1967 graduate of the
University of Montana, started his career in Alaska as a wildlands
firefighter and then served as an artillery officer in the Vietnam
War. He received his master’s degree in business administration
from Oregon State University in 1975 before working as a Bureau of
Land Management range specialist in eastern Oregon until 1984.
He is a past Missoula city
administrator, city councilman and county commissioner who also
owned an equipment rental business in Missoula. Anderson served as
a natural resource adviser and field representative for former Sen.
Conrad Burns, and has been Rehberg’s northwest Montana field
director for the past two years.
