Verla A. “Mac” Bryant

Verla A. “Mac” Bryant, 82, of Libby died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at St. John's Lutheran Hospital from natural causes.

She was born Aug. 11, 1927 in Helena to Vincent and Maybelle King McCarthy. She grew up and attended school in Helena and graduated from Helena High School with the Class of 1945. She attended Washington State University for one year.

She married Robert Bryant on Nov. 20, 1948 at the Cathedral in Helena. They moved to Libby in July 1977. She owned and operated the Caboose Restaurant for 18 years.

Verla enjoyed golfing and bridge. She was active in home health and St. John's Lutheran Auxiliary. She was an avid supporter of the Memorial Center.   

Survivors include two sons, Steve Bryant of Libby; and Mike Bryant and wife Diane of Auburn, Calif.; grandchildren, Collin Bryant and wife Jina of Chico, Calif.; Kyle Bryant of Sacramento, Calif.; Ashley Day and husband Michael of Libby; and Carson Bryant of Libby; and great-grandchildren, Aren James, Kasen Day and Saraya Day - all of Libby. 

A celebration of life will be held Sunday May 2 at 1 p.m., at the Memorial Center, 111 E. Lincoln Blvd., in Libby. Memorial Mass will be held May 12 at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Libby.
