Rex Allen Alsbury

Rex Allen Alsbury, 48, passed on to his gracious Heavenly Father on Monday, April 12, 2010 in Kalispell.

He was born on Sept. 10, 1961 in Denver, Colo. The family moved from Colorado to Libby in 1966 where he resided until his death.

He graduated from Libby High School in 1979. After high school, he worked in the oil fields in Sydney for three years for WB Wells Services. In 1983, he began logging for Timber Tech. He was a very hard and dedicated worker. He worked in the timber industry for approximately 20 years.

He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly fishing, fly fishing, hunting and camping with his family. He was a talented baseball player and very good with his hands. He tied flies in his spare time and loved to watch sports, especially NASCAR.

He was a free-spirited man who enjoyed life and had a great appreciation for the small and simple things. He found good in everyone, everything and every situation. He was a very generous person who was often known as someone who would “take the shirt off of his back for you.” He enjoyed riding his golf cart on his self-designed Alsbury 300 course. He was an avid believer in the saying, “Can’t never did nothing, Can did it all.” He will be dearly missed by his three children.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Gene Alsbury, and his uncle, Don Alsbury.

Survivors include his two daughters, Crystal Wagner and husband Dennis of Spokane, Wash.; and Mindi Alsbury of Libby; son, Rex F. Alsbury of Libby; brother, Dewayne Alsbury of Libby; stepmother, Carolyn Alsbury of Libby; and one nephew.

Memorial services are to be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, April 17 at Libby Christian Church in Libby with Minister Dean Byrns. Cremation is under the direction of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
