For the second straight week, Troy’s Cory Orr won an event.

First, Orr cleared 5 feet, 10 inches in the high jump to take first at the Libby Time Trials. This past weekend at Columbia Falls, Orr went 19-5 1/2 to win the long jump.

Along with a second-place showing by Ryan Rayson in the high jump and five other top-six finishes, the Troy boys track team finished seventh in the 13-school meet at Columbia Falls.

“I was really impressed with our performance at this meet,” Troy coach Neil Newton said. “We had many personal bests … Kalip Gregory also had a great performance in the javelin. We also had Jacob Lopez, Coby Garrison and Blayne Metz running sub-minute 400s.”

Orr in the long jump and Rayson in the high jump were both personal bests. Gregory took fourth in the javelin (152-10), Rayson was fourth in the triple jump (38-4), Orr tied for fifth in the high jump (5-10), Lopez was sixth in the 400 (56.7) and Cullen Metz placed sixth in the shot put (41-3 1/2).

Libby placed 11th in the boys’ portion of the meet with 16 points behind a pair of third-place finishes and a sixth-place relay. Dylan Berget was third in the 1600 (5:12.18) and Tyler Troy placed third in the 300-meter hurdles (44.7).

The Loggers’ 1600-meter relay of Dylan Berget, Nate Hutchison, Colby Rybar and Troy placed fourth in 3:53.44.

Columbia Falls won the boys’ title by more than 40 points over runner-up Polson.

For the girls, Libby finished ninth with seven individual placings. Kaila Forster, Chancey Auge and Nikola Falk each won multiple events.

Forster earned points in three events with third place in the long jump (14-5), fifth in the 100 hurdles (17.9) and sixth in the triple jump (29-7). Auge took runner-up honors in the high jump (4-8) and also placed sixth in the javelin (86-7). Falk took third in the 800-meter run (2:40.5) and sixth in the 3200 (13:18.0).

Ashley Suber was the lone Trojan girl to earn a placing with fifth in the long jump (13-6 1/2).

Polson’s girls took the team title by a wide margin over runner-up Bigfork.

Libby was scheduled to participate in the Kalispell Time Trials on Tuesday. Troy heads to Thompson Falls on Thursday. Both the Loggers and Trojans will travel to the Bigfork Invitational on Saturday.
