Boys Tennis: Trojans play to 3-3 tie in opener

The Troy High School boys tennis team opened the season on Saturday at home against Mission and played to a 3-3 tie.

Creede Garcia took a 6-4, 7-5 victory at No. 2 singles, Pat Hickman downed his opponent, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3, at No. 3 singles and the doubles team of Kody and Chris Hoffman won, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2.

Jake Higgins and Jeff Rebo dropped singles matches. Derrick Winslow and Cody Orr lost a heartbreaker at No. 2 doubles.

The Trojans were scheduled to compete on Tuesday at home against Clark’s Fork, Idaho. Troy will play host to Valley Christian at 11 a.m. Saturday.
