Bertha L. Chvilicek
Bertha L. Chvilicek, 70, died Saturday, April 3, 2010 at her home in Libby from natural causes.
She was born Oct. 6, 1939 in Larimore, N.D., to Carl and Bernice (Kirkedalh) Beaver. She was raised as Bertha Cady by Wallace “Bud” Cady, the man she called dad. She grew up in Nespelem, Wash., and Hingham, where she attended high school.
She married Norbert (Newt) Chvilicek April 4, 1959 in Havre. They moved to Libby in 1974. She had worked as a drug and alcohol counselor here in Libby. She enjoyed crafting and fishing, her grandkids, great-grandkids and her Tuesday trips to town with Helen Tarbert.
Her parents, two brothers and a son preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Joel Chvilicek and La’Vern of Libby; Sarah Chvilicek of Reno, Nev.; and Ken Chvilicek and wife Jennifer of Mars, Pa.; sisters, Dema Dresen and husband Tom of Sturtevant, Wis.; Jean Green and husband Richard of Havre; Bonnie Carlson of Chinook; and Beverly Hatler and husband Ron of St. Paul, Minn.; brothers, Marvin Beaver and wife Marie of Elmira, Ore.; and Vern Beaver and wife Rose of Hamilton; grandkids, Erica, Bo, Brenna, Ryan, Jada, and Lucas; two great-grandkids, Kaliah and Natalya; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Libby Volunteer Ambulance.
