Letter: Landlords, give pet owners a chance

| April 1, 2010 12:00 AM

Dear Editor:

It’s really sad that folks that rent places judge everyone because of something another renter did. No pets is a big one and I can understand why. But there are a few of us who are being shut out without a fair chance.

I have spent many years teaching and training my pets to be clean, not to destroy anything that is not their toy. I have even offered to pay refundable fees and am still not getting a chance. It’s not the pet’s fault; it’s the renters because they are not responsible people.

And it’s not fair to those of us who are very responsible and really do care about your place and have respect for your stuff. My pets are what keeps me going and healthy so don’t tell me to get rid of them. That would be irresponsible of me to do that.

So, please folks that are renting out, give us a fair chance. We need a home to live in, too.
