Mike Schikora is headed home.

An accomplished country music singer and songwriter, Schikora will perform for family, friends and fans on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Memorial Center in Libby.

The concert is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Schikora is a rustic cowboy who now makes his home in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. When he is not working in the pasture training newborn foals, riding and mending fences, Schikora finds his passion in music and draws inspiration from the natural beauty around him.

With songs like “Colorado Cowboy” and “Montana Skies,” it’s easy to see he holds this region of the country close to his heart.

His latest single, “What’s Old Is New Again,” highlights a love that grows stronger with time while examining a couple’s promise, commitment, encouragement and devotion. The song is the title track from his critically-acclaimed debut CD currently available on CD Baby, iTunes and Rhapsody.

“The title tune, ‘What’s Old Is New Again,’ to this fellow’s CD has rippling Latin rhythm and a crisp production,” wrote Nashville music critic Robert K. Oermann of Music Row Magazine. “His pitch-perfect, light tenor voice has an attractive ‘break’ in certain notes. The acoustic guitar solos are cool, too. All in all, a job very well done.”
