Elvis show makes return to Libby

Elvis Presley impersonator Danny Vernon will take his talents to the Memorial Center stage in Libby for two shows on Saturday, Sept. 19.

Achievements Inc., in Libby is hosting the event.

Vernon has been an Elvis fan since childhood when he began singing along with his father’s discarded albums. He grew passionate about the music while singing and dancing along with “the King.”

Vernon’s professional experiences include a gig as a singing server at a revolving restaurant, strumming guitar and singing acoustic folk/rock tunes in lounges and nightclubs, and recording an original country album in Nashville receiving national airplay.

Vernon performs from all three decades of Presley’s career, including the “recklessly-abandoned” hillbilly cat ’50s, the sleek ’60s movie years – including the “Comeback Special” – and the sexy ’70s jumpsuit years.

“From the many years of admiration of Elvis, I’ve sought to create a show that would hold the excitement of ‘the King’ on stage throughout various stages in his career,” Vernon says on his website. “I also try to show respect and support the integrity of the man and his music.”

Vernon will perform at 2:30 and 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 12 and under. Tickets are available at the Parkside Thrift Store, Montana Exposure, Libby Area Chamber of Commerce and Good News Christian Books & Music.
