Camp Patriot announced that an elk hunt is being provided this week to two veterans.

Ben McDonald of St. Louis and Elliott Miller of San Diego are hunting in Rexburg, Idaho at the Squirrel Creek Ranch for an excursion that began Tuesday and ends Saturday.

The event is being hosted by Roy Klingler of Elk Safaris West in coordination with Jake Meyers and Doug Rasmussen of Safari Club International, Northwest Chapter.

McDonald, a member of the Illinois National Guard, lost his left hand to high explosive machine gun fire in Afghanistan.

Miller, while serving with the U.S. Navy, was involved in a massive explosion in Iraq, leaving him near death and in a coma for four weeks.

Camp Patriot is a nonprofit corporation that exists to take U.S. disabled veterans on outdoor adventures.
