Letter: Moving on from Memorial Center
Dear Editor:
I am writing this letter to inform the community of my resignation as technical director of the Memorial Center to the Kootenai Heritage Council.
I have resigned for personal reasons, but not at all of a negative nature. I have learned so much in my time at the Memorial Center, and enjoyed working with so many people in the community. The most gratification I got from my job was the appreciation of the people I helped. This made any difficulties I had well worth the trouble.
I would especially like to thank the Kootenai Heritage Council Board of Directors and Brandon Roberts, the executive director of the Memorial Center. My decision was a very hard one to make, but they were very understanding in my decision. I wish the Memorial Center nothing less than the best and truly hope it will last forever in our community.
I do plan to remain involved in the center as a volunteer and look forward to working with people I have worked with in the past and making new friends of the Memorial Center as well.
I do, however, feel compelled to mention that the Memorial Center relies mostly on community support. And seeing firsthand, the economy as it is right now, the center has taken a large financial loss this year. I hope anyone reading this may feel compelled to become a member of the Memorial Center in order to help in sustaining the beautiful multi-functional facility this community is so fortunate to have available.
But for as long as that building stands and there are events, lights and microphones in there for the community, I plan to do my part in working for as many as I can, on my own time.
I have proudly accepted a position at Achievements Inc., mainly with Montana Exposure across from the Park Side Thrift Store. I write this letter at the end of my first week employed with Achievements. I am thrilled to be working for such a worthy cause in our community and look forward to getting to know such wonderful people in my time with Achievements.
Greg Woods,
Libby
