Sports Update: Troy volleyball team downs Thompson Falls

The Troy High School volleyball team won its first District 7-B match of the season on Thursday night with a 15-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-19 victory over Thompson Falls.

“We’ve been struggling since the preseason tournament with our receiving and getting our hitters to hit,” Troy Coach Sandra Jansma said, referring to the team’s 0-3 start in the conference. “Tonight, things started to click for us.”

Kristin Parks had nine kills and three ace serves, Ashley Paasch had seven kills and three blocks and Kimmy Klin finished with 14 set assists for the Lady Trojans. Megan Cummings and Jessica Lyons each had 10 digs. And Cummings added three ace serves.

Troy (1-3) will play on Saturday against Florence in Eureka.
