The Libby High School volleyball team swept a three-game match over Eureka on Tuesday, 25-16, 25-14, 25-22.

The Lady Loggers were able to take the court for the first time since the Whitefish Starter Tournament and will now prepare for this weekend’s Anaconda Tip-Off Tourney.

“It was good to get in a regular match tonight,” Libby coach Cindy Ostrem-Johnston said. “To get the win and in three (was nice). Eureka played us hard. They play very aggressive.”

Jackie Mee led Libby on the attack with 10 kills to go along with three ace serves. Alex Kulbeck finished with six kills and a team-high five aces.

“Alex Kulbeck had a great match,” Ostrem-Johnston said. “She’s around .500 hitting. She played some good defense for us.”

Alysha Martin also had six kills and nine digs for Libby. Evi Cernick contributed 25 set assists and Logan Best had eight digs.

On Friday and Saturday at Anaconda, Northwestern A schools will face Southwestern A schools. Each match features two games to 25. If teams split games, a point differential will be used to determine the winner.

Libby opens on Friday at 9 a.m. with a match against Dillon and follows with Frenchtown at 11 a.m., Hamilton at 1 p.m., Stevensville at 3 p.m., and Anaconda at 5 p.m. On Saturday, the Loggers will face Corvallis at 10 a.m. before the medal round matches get under way at 12:30 p.m. Teams will be seeded for the final round based on records from pool play.
