Aaron D. Brossman Sr.

Aaron D. Brossman Sr., 69, a longtime Libby resident, died Monday, Sept. 7, 2009 at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital from natural causes.

He was born Oct. 1, 1939 in Longmont, Colo., to Charles and Irene Eaches Brossman. He grew up and attended school in Boulder County, Colo. He quit school after the eighth grade and went to work. At age 15 he started painting for a living. In 1968 he moved with his family to Libby where he continued to work as a painter. He retired in 1993 for health reasons.

Mr. Brossman enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and eating. He loved his kids and grandkids, enjoyed playing pool with his friends and loved being an active part of Libby Christian Church.

Two sisters, Bessie Divis and Frances “Josie” McCracken; a brother, Richard Brossman; and his parents preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his children, Ray Brossman and wife Barb of Libby; Rick Brossman and wife Vivian of Brighton, Colo.; Rod Brossman and wife Della of Libby; Aaron Brossman and wife Connie of Columbia Falls; Randy Brossman of Libby; Angela Goucher and husband Marty of Rathdrum, Idaho; brothers and sisters, Irma Doss of Arkansas; Mary Colwell and husband Frank of Lander, Wyo.; Charles Brossman and wife Gracie of Fort Smith, Ark.; Dan Brossman and wife Hazel of Lander, Wyo.; JoAnn Byrns and husband Dean of Spokane Valley, Wash.; George Brossman and wife Carol of Dacona, Colo.; Emmy Brunk and husband Steve of Greeley, Colo.; Kathy Rudd of Loveland, Colo.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. at the Libby Christian Church, 100 Kootenai River Road, in Libby. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 11 from 1-8 p.m. at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Memorials may be given to the Libby Christian Church.
