Henriette 'Harriet' L. Uithof

Henriette “Harriet” Louise Uithof died Sept. 4, 2009 in Yakima, Wash.

Born Nov. 18, 1920, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she valued her French-Canadian heritage. She came to Montana as a young bride and new mother and through her life she lived in cities in Montana, Minnesota, Canada and Washington.

She will be remembered by family for her excellent pies and meals, the distances she walked to do errands as she never drove and the skill she displayed while knitting sweaters, mittens and blankets. She was involved with the Red Cross and worked with children in schools.

She is survived by three children and their spouses, Sandra and Charles Wells of Yakima; Robert and Linda Uithof of Libby; and Guy and Deanna Uithof of Helena; a brother, Robert Bedard of Vancouver, British Columbia; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in Vancouver, British Columbia near her mother. Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home in Yakima, Wash., handled arrangements.
