Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, allowing kids and adults to soak up the holiday with a full weekend of ghoulish pleasure.

Kick off with a trip to the Hell House on Friday, a dwelling so haunted that organizers give it a PG-13 rating. Located at 803 Mineral Ave. in Libby, Hell House runs Friday and Saturday from 7-10 p.m. and costs $4 or $3 with a donation to the Libby Food Pantry or Pregnancy Care Center.

For something a little more theatrical, spend an intense evening with Edgar Allan Poe on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Memorial Center in Libby. The Poe Project, put on by the Montana Repertory Theatre, is a 50-minute production that takes a look into the historic writer’s macabre world as he struggles to invent the detective story.

You can also catch the show at the Troy High School auditorium on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

There’s more for the kids than trick-or-treating on Saturday evening. Various churches in Libby are offering free games and prizes for kids of all ages. See below for locations and times. Rosauers is also throwing a Halloween party for kids 12 and under from 6-8 p.m., complete with contests and prizes.

A Halloween Carnival in Troy, sponsored by the New Horizons after-school program and Powder Hounds school ski club, will offer  games, a haunted house, costume contests and refreshments.

For the adults, various bars and casinos in Troy and Libby will have music, broomstick pool and costume contests. Prizes vary from a $100 drink tab to a 2-night stay in Las Vegas. See below for location and times.
