Two candidates up for a pair of vacant seats on the Troy City Council during the current mail-in ballot election did not return questionnaires to the Western News.

The newspaper attempted on multiple occasions to reach and encourage candidates Phillip Fisher and Frances McCully to share information about themselves and offer viewpoints to Troy voters. With hopes of publishing their answers, the News extended its questionnaire submission deadlines to those two candidates. The newspaper does not publish candidate profiles in the two editions prior to the final day of the voting.

The News published election packages on Troy’s two mayoral candidates and Libby’s two mayoral candidates in the Oct. 16 edition, and Libby’s nine city council candidates in the Oct. 21 edition.

The question-and-answer stories on the mayoral candidates and the Libby City Council candidates can also be found online at www.thewesternnews.com .

The mail-in election ends at 8 p.m. on Nov. 3 when ballots are due to the Election Department at the Lincoln County Courthouse.
