Volleyball: Troy girls drop 2 close matches

The Troy High School volleyball team lost two tough matches within the district last week. Although both Thompson Falls and Bigfork swept the Lady Trojans, each game was a battle to the end.

On Thursday, Thompson Falls pulled off a win over Troy, 29-27, 27-25, 26-24. Then on Saturday, the Trojans played on the home floor and dropped a match to Bigfork, 25-21, 25-23, 25-21.

Ashley Suber had a team-high 13 kills against the Bluehawks. Kristin Parks had two blocks while Alyssa Olds contributed 30 set assists. Parks had three of the team’s six serving aces. Jessica Lyons finished with 15 digs.

Against Bigfork, both Ashley Paasch and Parks had six kills and two blocks. Olds finished with 16 assists and Paasch served for three aces. In the digs department, Kimmy Klin led with 11.

Troy goes to 3-6 in the region, 5-10 overall and will play at Noxon on Thursday. The Lady Trojans then wrap up the regular season on Saturday with homecoming against Plains. The district tournament in Troy will follow over the weekend of Oct. 30-31.
