Jacqueline Ann Ayers

Jacqueline Ann (Thomas) Ayers, 70, of Boise, Idaho, died at home on Oct. 14 , 2009. She was born on Oct. 16, 1938, to Bert and Alvina Thomas.  

She attended Troy schools and graduated with a bachelor of arts in elementary education from the University of Montana. She owned three child-care centers for 21 years in Boise with hundreds of children passing through those doors. She was also a docent at the Boise Art Museum.

She met Floyd Ayers at the U of M. They were married on Aug. 20, 1961.

She and her husband loved to travel, visiting many foreign countries. She especially loved their adventure to Wales with her sister and cousins. She loved children and continued to reach out to them by giving tours at the art museum and donating time to the Literacy Lab in Boise.

She loved to play cards, read, plan family get-togethers and attend as many of her grandchildrens’ events as possible. 

Mrs. Ayers is survivied by her husband, Floyd; sister, Gwen and husband Rich of Hayden Lake, Idaho; daughter, Tami and husband Brian Berreman of Boise; daughter, Lisa and husband Norm Schlachter of Boise; daughter, Krista Ayers of Boise; and son, Craig and wife Margaret Ayers of Walnut Creek, Calif. She had eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Bert and Alvina Thomas of Troy.

A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Rockies, United Methodist Church located at 711 N. 11th St., in Boise.
