Robert 'Bob' Gene Garrison

Robert “Bob” Gene Garrison, 52, of Troy died Oct.10, 2009 at his home surrounded by family and friends.

He was born Jan. 10, 1957 in Libby to Glen C. and Betty L. Potter Garrison. He married Becki Davis on April 23, 1977 in Troy.

Mr. Garrison had many different occupations in his lifetime as a “Jack of all trades, but a master of none” but found his niche when he became the owner/operator of Taz 1 Towing. He developed a reputation of helping different people he encountered as the “tow truck driver.”

He loved to help others and had been a member of Troy Volunteer Dispatch, Troy Volunteer Ambulance and David Thompson Search and Rescue.

He enjoyed the outdoors with activities such as hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle, viewing wildlife, picking huckleberries and gathering wood for the winter. He also loved his children, especially visits from his grandchildren, Cami Jo, Torrahn and Emma.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glen C. Garrison; grandparents, Roscoe and Selma Garrison and Roy and Evelyn Potter.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Becki, of the family home; mother, Betty Jamison of Troy; sons, Roscoe Garrison and significant other, Emily Chamberlain of Troy; Robby Garrison and wife, Morgan of Ft. Carson, Colo.; daughter, Rachelle Nicholls and husband Mike of Troy; brothers, Glen (Louie) Garrison of Troy; Charles Garrison and wife Judy, Broken Arrow, Okla.; David Garrison of Hot Springs S.D.; Orville Garrison of Ft. Supply, Okla.; and Renee Taplin and husband Trevor of Creston, British Columbia, Canada; grandchildren, Cami Jo, Torrahn and Emma; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday, Oct. 16, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Troy Church of God. Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby handled arrangements.
