The Class A state golf tournament at Whitefish has been shortened to 27 holes, organizers announced.

The tournament was moved from Kalispell to Whitefish because of course conditions in poor weather. But on Monday, play did not get started until 1:30 p.m. because of cold weather and frost on the course. Most players did not have time to finish 18 holes by the time they were called off the course just after 6 p.m. because of darkness.

The tournament was scheduled to resume Tuesday at noon, weather permitting.

Chelsea Oedewaldt, Candace Hendrickson, Zach Watson and Louis Cielak qualified and are representing Libby High School in the tournament.
