Mayme H. Tillman

Mayme H. Tillman, 97, a longtime Thompson Falls resident, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009 in Libby from natural causes.

She was born June 17, 1912 in Sandpoint, Idaho to Henry and Gertie Anderson Haselhuhn. She grew up and attended school in Sandpoint where she graduated. She married Peter Carter and they had four children. She later married Jack Tillman.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers, knitting, crocheting and keeping a journal. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and two sons, Theodore and Eugene Carter.

Survivors include her children, Viola Goetz and husband Paul of Thompson Falls; Netia Jensen and husband, Walter of Baker City, Ore.; Karen Monroe and husband Duane of Libby; Pat Anderson and significant other Doug Scarlet, Eckert, Colo.; a sister, Helen Shadel and husband Francis of San Hosea, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Thompson Falls City Cemetery. Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby handled arrangements.
