Norman G. Winter

Norman G. Winter, 81, of Libby died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009 at Libby Care Center from natural causes.

He was born Nov. 27, 1927 in Tacoma, Wash. He grew up and attended school in Eaton. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

In 1971, he moved to Libby where he went to work for W.R. Grace as a heavy equipment operator. He retired in 1981.

Mr. Winter enjoyed fishing, picking berries, going for walks and especially spending time with his grandchildren, David and Amber.

His wife, Charlene, preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his children, Steven Winter and wife Pam of Libby; Laura Winter of Montana; Tammy and husband Rick of Graham, Wash.; Debbie of Spokane, Wash.; Cindy of Libby; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held.

Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby handled arrangements.
