Golf: Watson, Benefield in top 10 at Frenchtown

The Libby High School boys golf team placed third out of six teams and Zach Watson had a top-five performance at Monday’s Frenchtown Invitational at King Ranch Golf Course.

Watson shot a round of 83 to tie for fifth place with a pair of Hamilton golfers. Byron Benefield also placed among tourney leaders with an 89 – good for 10th place.

Eli Rogers of Hamilton won the individual title with a 77.

As a team, the Loggers came in with a score of 359 to finish third behind Hamilton and Frenchtown. Ronan was fourth, followed by Stevensville and Anaconda.

Other Libby scores were turned in by Louis Cielak (90), Chris Campbell (97) and Seth Volkenand (107).
