Libby Wrestling Club members Zach Crace and Cody Crace each won medals recently at the Spartan Challenge at North Central High School in Spokane, Wash.

Zach Crace, competing in the Schoolboy 98-pound division, pinned all of his opponents in a combined 2:41 to win the title. In the finals, he won a hard-fought match over Jessie Barajas of Victory Wrestling of Yakima, Wash.

Cody Crace competed in the Bantam (ages 6-7) 60-pound division. It was the first time that the fourth-year wrestler made it to the finals of a tournament. He got off to a strong start by pinning his first three opponents in a combined 2:01 – including a seven-second pin in his opening match. He went on to finish runner-up to Chase Randall of Team Spartan Wrestling following a 13-2 loss in the finals.

In the tournament’s pin competition Cody Crace finished second out of 187 wrestlers with his three pins in 2:01. Zach Crace was third overall with his three pins in 2:41. The pin champ had four pins in 6:37 and only outdistanced the Crace brothers because of his four pins.

The wrestlers were scheduled to compete again this past weekend in the Predator World Championships in Seattle. That tournament is part of the Rocky Mountain National series that will draw competitors from all over the western section of the country.
