THS girls tennis competes at state

The Troy High School girls tennis team sent one singles player and two doubles teams to the Class B-C State Tournament in Missoula.

In singles, Cassidy Hand dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to Micah Weidman of Townsend, 6-2, 6-4. In the consolation bracket, she lost to Darby’s Miriam Bender.

The doubles team of Ande Hawkins and Liz Smith was competitive but also lost in two straight. In the opening round, Hawkins and Smith dropped a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 decision and in the consolation bracket, they fell by a 6-2, 6-3 count.

The team of Tara Duzan and Jackie Pepiot lost in the first round to their Fort Benton opponents, 6-1, 6-3. In the consolation bracket, a team from Loyola defeated Duzan and Pepiot, 6-0, 6-0.
