The Libby High School softball team won its regular-season home finale on Thursday with a 6-1 triumph over Whitefish.

Candace Hendrickson hit a home run and collected two RBIs in the victory. Taylor Armstrong pitched a complete-game five-hitter with one walk and five strikeouts.

Amber Grubham and Nicky Lapka each went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Hendrickson was 2-for-3.

At Polson on Friday, the Lady Loggers dropped a 10-5 decision. The Pirates pulled away in the bottom of the fifth with four runs to take an 8-3 lead.

The Loggers did pull to within one of the lead but could not push any more across until the final frame. Polson got out of the inning with an exceptional defensive play that included doubling off a runner on third.

Lapka, Hendrickson and Jaime Gilden each had two hits. Lapka and Hendrickson had doubles. Armstrong was the pitcher of decision.
