The Troy High School softball team led 1-0 in the first inning but then got shell-shocked by an exceptional Loyola Sacred Heart opponent on Saturday in an 18-1 loss.

Sacred Heart scored five runs in the first, two in the second, four in the third and seven in the fourth to win on the 10-run mercy rule. On top of that, Loyola’s Sarah Goodman no-hit the Lady Trojans.

Alicia Anderson was the pitcher of decision for Troy.

The Trojans’ scheduled game against Mission on Friday was postponed. The next game on the team’s schedule is against Drummond in Plains on Thursday.
