Mabel I. Bogusz

Mabel I. Bogusz, 97, died on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at her home in Eureka.

She was born on Nov. 26, 1911 at Warrington, W. Va., to William F. and Nannie Bright (Hayes) Hinegardner. She attended school at Frankfort High School in Virginia.

She married George W. Saunders in 1933 at Lewisburg, W. Va. They later divorced. She went to work in the shipyards in Vancouver, Wash., and later moved to New Orleans. She met and married Ben L. Bogusz in 1945.

In 1948, she moved to Libby and worked at the Rexall Pharmacy. She moved to Washington and owned and operated a floral shop. In 2003, she moved to Eureka to be with her daughter.

Mrs. Bogusz enjoyed fishing, teaching Sunday school, gardening, crocheting and animals.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Carlson of Eureka; two sisters, Marilyn Lancaster of Lewisburg, W. Va.; and Mildred Gabbert of Rockport, Md.; grandchildren, Renee Tost and husband Frank Finch of Chinook; Benjamin Carlson and wife Sharon of Eureka; Jamie Carlson and husband Bill Lundburg of Fortine; 11 great-grandchildren, Gitana, Misty, Tyrell, Kearsa, Jessica, Kyler, Jeremey, Brandie, Byron, Izzy and Gabe; and one great-great-grandchild, Tallon.

Private family services are being held.
