It was a pretty good afternoon for the Berget family.

Cousins Dylan and Kody Berget accounted for five of Libby High School’s seven individual winning performances on Tuesday at the Lincoln County Meet. Competing on the home track with periodic bursts of rainfall, the Loggers swept the boys and girls team titles.

Dylan Berget took first in the 800-meter run (2:18.18), 1600-meter run (5:05.24) and 3200-meter run (11:53.92). Meanwhile, Kody Berget won the 400-meter dash (56.06) and 300-meter intermediate hurdles (43.82). He also ran a leg on the winning 1600-relay (3:47.26) with teammates Kyle Berke, Evan May and Dietrich Coleman.

Libby’s boys also got two first-place finishes from senior Seth Wright. In the triple jump, Wright went 42-3.5 to claim first. In the high jump, he tied for first with Troy’s Aaron Palmer at a height of 6-2.

The Loggers racked up 85 points to easily take first place. Eureka finished second with 59 and Troy was third at 37.

Besides the tie for first in the high jump, Troy’s boys also got a win from Palmer in the javelin (194-0) and Scotty Harper in the long jump (19-3).

The Libby girls also had several exceptional performances with three girls winning multiple events. Devon Hoyer won both the 100-meter hurdles (17.64) and high jump (4-8), Kaila Forster took first in the 300-meter hurdles (49.47) and long jump (15-1.5), and Stephany Kluver won the javelin (113-10) and discus (105-7).

Rachael Sweedman was tops in the triple jump (32-1.25) and Erin Baker took first in the shot put (31-8.25).

As a team, the Lady Loggers compiled 74 points to Eureka’s 62 and Troy’s 18.
