Noxon downs Trojans, 12-2

The Troy High School softball team dropped a 12-2 decision at Noxon in Class B action on Thursday.

The Lady Trojans jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning and held that advantage into the bottom of the second. The Red Devils came alive with five runs in the second and four more in the third to take control.

Dolly Blata (1-for-3) and Alyssa Olds (1-for-3) had hits for the Trojans (3-7). Alicia Anderson got the decision at pitcher.

Noxon (2-4) got a three-run homer from Chandler Wilkinson.

Troy dropped a 17-7 contest to Libby’s junior varsity on Friday. The Loggers erupted for nine runs in the sixth inning to pull away.

Blata went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Alicia Anderson also went 2-for-3. Other top offensive contributors were Megan Cummings (1-for-3), Kimmy Klin (2 runs), Ashley Paasch (1 run), Michelle Pillans (1-for-2, 2 runs, 1 RBI) and Audrey Messerle (1 run).

The Lady Trojans play host to Mission on Friday. Varsity action starts at 4 p.m.
