Golf association plans meeting

The Cabinet View Country Club Men’s Association will hold a league meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 24 at the clubhouse.

On the agenda will be Tuesday and Thursday Night League rules and format and the election of officers.

League officials ask that everyone show up to support the league.

VFW Auxiliary plans dinner event

The VFW Post No. 1548 Auxiliary will be serving corned beef and cabbage on Wednesday, March 18 from 4:30-7 p.m. in the VFW community room.

Dinner rolls, salad and dessert are also included for the price of $7 per serving. The auxiliary invites all to join them.

County issues open burning reminder

The Lincoln  County Environmental Health Department issued a reminder to Libby residents that open burning is prohibited until April 1.

Lori Kelley-Bowe said permits for residential yard cleanup burns are available free of charge. Residents may also call to ask that a permit be sent through the mail.

Kelley-Bowe said residents may want to consider taking yard waste to the landfill – which is free. For those who see anyone burning limbs, garbage, etc., call 293-7781, ext. 344.

Seniors group plans special March 19 event

Seniors With a Purpose, also known as SWAP, will meet at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, at Libby Christian Church.

A potluck lunch will be served and attendees are asked to wear green. Entertainment will be provided and there is no charge. All senior citizens are welcome.

Public hearing set on water settlement

A public hearing concerning the use of International Paper settlement funds to reduce water bills in the Libby city limits during the summer months is scheduled for Monday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
