Martha E. Buchanan

Martha E. Buchanan, 79, of Libby died Tuesday, June 16, 2009.

She was born Sept. 29, 1929 in Center, Colo., to James and Arnetta Wilson Buchanan. She grew up and attended school in Denver and graduated from West High School with the Class of 1947.

She married Ray Appleton at Holy Family Catholic Church in 1953 in Denver.

She worked for Sears & Roebuck for many years and also as a bookkeeper. She was an active member of The Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church in Pueblo, Colo. She enjoyed studying the Bible and teaching it to others, and playing tennis. 

Survivors include her ex-husband, Ray Appleton of Libby; children, Ron Appleton of Texas; Rae Ann Moxley of Libby; and Elizabeth Appleton of Colorado; sisters, Harvetta Lupton of Kansas; Charlene Thurston of Colorado; and Virginia Schell of Colorado; a brother, Frank Lupton of Colorado; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. 

Services will be held in Pueblo, Colo.

Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby handled arrangements.
