Letter: Libby Tree Board thankful for generous donations

Dear Editor:

The Libby Tree Board would like to thank the following organizations and individuals for making our 2009 Plant the Town project a success.

With their help, we were able to plant 46 trees along Highway 2 and at other places in town.

• Department of Natural Resources and Conservation – yearly $1,000 Arbor Day award and $800 for trees for the Memorial Center.

• Lincoln County Community Foundation – $1,000 grant.

• Plum Creek Foundation – $3,000 grant money in 2007.

• Society of American Foresters – volunteer tree planting.

• Libby Adventist Pathfinder Club – volunteer tree planting and cleanup.

• Chris Noble and Jim Regh – donated excavation for planting.

• City of Libby street crew – tree and stump removal, assistance with planting.

• Dan Thede – excavation for planting.

• Private individuals who donated money and time toward this project.
