Blaine Baker, a 2005 Libby High School graduate, competed this past weekend at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.

Baker, a sophomore at Brigham Young University, placed 18th in the javelin throw with a final distance of 208 feet, 11 inches.

During his freshman year, Baker (6-foot-4, 235 pounds) experienced plenty of success with several high finishes in major meets. Javelin is his primary event, although he also has competed in the shot put, discus and sprints.
