Libby native Destiney Moore has a lot on her plate right now.

A regular on reality television, Moore wrapped recently on a feature film and has a line of clothing and accessories out called Divination. On top of those projects, she’s also seven months pregnant.

Moore was in Libby last weekend for a gathering with friends. It’s the first time she’s been able to get back to her hometown in five years.

Moore was born in California to Tom and Pammy Moore and by the time she was age 4, they relocated to Libby. The family remained in Libby throughout her school years and she graduated from LHS in 1994. Soon thereafter she moved to California.

Did culture shock set in after her departure from northwestern Montana?

“Definitely, in the beginning,” she said. “We didn’t have freeways and once I got to Los Angeles, there are so many people and cars, so many lanes on the road. I was 18 when I came here, I was very young.”

Moore eventually made her break into entertainment. Besides a couple of film appearances, she’s made her biggest mark in reality TV with former Poison rock star Bret Michels.

“I was always fascinated by the TV and entertainment industry,” she said. “That was always my goal – to come back to California and pursue a career.”

Moore’s first venture into movies occurred as an extra on the low-budget film, “Malibu.”

“And then, I worked a lot, I went to acting classes for years, I got a little break in a film called Georgia Rule directed by Garry Marshall,” she said. “Then I got into SAG (Screen Actor’s Guild).”

Released in May 2007, “Georgia Rule” starred Lindsay Lohan as a spoiled California teen who with her alcoholic mother (Felicity Huffman) spends the summer with Grandma Georgia (Jane Fonda) in small-town Idaho.

Moore landed the role of a waitress in the film and qualified to carry a SAG union card.

“About a year later, I did ‘Rock of Love with Bret Michels,’” she said.

“Rock of Love with Bret Michels” elevated Moore’s exposure to create more career opportunities. The reality TV series involved a series of challenges for women who were competing for the rock star’s affections along with $100,000.

Moore will always remember when her parents came onto the show. Her late father, who had liver cancer, and her mother paid a visit.

“We got to ride on Bret’s Harley,” Moore said. “That’s a nice memory.”

Following a runner-up finish on season two, Moore and others from the first two seasons were invited to participate in another reality series entitled “Rock of Love: Charm School” with Sharon Osbourne.

“They put us in a house to try to better ourselves and each challenge was something with music, entertainment or the fashion world,” Moore said. “There was some crazy drama … it was all pretty much to further ourselves.”

Moore’s latest project is a feature film entitled “Reality Horror Show,” which is currently in post-production and is scheduled for release around Halloween.

The plot features reality television stars competing for a $1 million prize on a Christmas reality show. The participants don’t know that as they are voted off one at a time, they lose their lives.

The film, directed by Douglas Elford-Argent, features top reality stars from “The Biggest Loser,” “Rock of Love,” “I Love Money,” “The Mole,” “Survivor,” “Howard TV,” “Next Top Model,” “Amazing Race,” “I Wanna Work for Diddy” and “Fit Club.”

Moore’s Divination line includes clothing and accessories such as necklaces, flower hair clips and bandanas.
