Letter: Soccer camp thanks police chief Walters

| July 16, 2009 12:00 AM

Dear Editor:

For the last two years, we have run a soccer camp for the kids of Troy and Libby at Roosevelt Park in Troy. Each year, the police in Troy helps us by tracking the speed of soccer balls.

The climax of the week is having Officer Mitch Walters come and catch the fast balls on his radar. Each soccer player gets to kick several balls and have him catch them on his radar to measure their speed. Each year, Officer Mitch volunteers his time to help make this camp week a success.

Thank you, Officer Mitch.
