Kenneth Oliver Redifer

Kenneth Oliver Redifer, 73, of Camas Valley, Ore., died Friday, June 26, 2009, in Roseburg, Ore. Born in Roseburg in 1936, he was the son of John and Viola Thrush of Camas Valley.

Mr. Redifer worked as a logger for many years, both in Libby and in Oregon. He also was part owner of the bar at the Big Bend for a time under the name The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Viola Thrush; son, Galen Redifer; and brother, Gerald Thrush.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Redifer of Camas Valley, Ore.; children, Jerry Redifer of Libby; Deborah Orwick and husband Dale of Roseburg, Ore.; Dennis Redifer and Verla of Libby; Carolyn Jones and husband Mick of Libby; and John Redifer and wife Kelli of Winston, Ore.; siblings, Colleen Wilhite, Raleigh Thrush, and Laura Newton; stepmother, Alice Thrush; stepchildren, Jon Dishner, Greg Knutson, Glen Knutson, Becky Knutson and Jennifer Carlson; grandchildren, Ken Redifer, Tammy McMillan, Reed Redifer, Alicia Redifer, Christopher Orwick, Whitney Wrinkle, Ben Redifer, Randy Redifer, Lester Jones, Crystal Jones, Zachary Jones, Brandy Redifer, and Josh Redifer; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Mr. Redifer’s request, no services will be held. A memorial potluck for family and friends will be held on July 1 at the Orwick home: 3290 Strickland Canyon Road, Roseburg, Ore. Call 541-679-7614 for information.

Interment will be at the Thrush Family Cemetery in Camas Valley. Taylor’s Family Mortuary in Winston, Ore., handled arrangements.
