County issues air advisory

| January 29, 2009 11:00 PM

The Lincoln County Environmental Health Department issued an air advisory on Friday. It is not a air alert but an advisory.

"The temperature difference between the valley and  Zonalite Mountain is 13 degrees," the advisory reads. "We have been seeing these trends for several days and our particulate levels have accumulated to a 24-hour average of 37, which is unhealthy.

"In this category, it is advisable for active children and adults and those with respiratory diseases to avoid outdoor exertion; everyone else should limit outdoor exertion."

Voluntary use of alternative heating sources could help prevent calling an air alert, officials said.
