Letter: Soldier, snowman need to be replaced or retired

Dear Editor:

I believe I have read several accounts in the paper about millions of dollars that will be spent on our downtown “Streetscape.” If there is so much money available to beautify our town, cannot a few dollars be spent on new Christmas decorations for the courthouse lawn?

That soldier and snowman are very old, ugly and dirty – beyond words. Last year, they were not up and I was very pleased. Less was more.

If new ones can’t be found at least get rid of those decrepit things and go without any decorations. Please.
